Mission Statement

Love God Love People Be Real

 What We Do

Our ministry works with those incarcerated. Our mission is to encourage change from with-in.

Since September 29, 2007 we have been involved with the Orlando Community Release Center, which is a Florida Department of Corrections facility that houses 84 women.  This facility is for those, who qualify, to finish out their prison sentence while working in the community while still in custody.  Upon their arrival from the state prisons they do not always have proper clothing, and such, to re-enter the job market. Several of them do not have families that are able to provide what they need to take this next step.  This is where we try to help.  Their needs vary and begin with the basics. Clothes, shoes, eye glasses, bus passes to be able to find a job and then bus passes to get to work, until they earn there first check.   A little encouragement goes a long way when you are trying to start over.

Before Covid We would go inside every Thursday evening and provide mentoring, encouragement and life skills studies along with a bible study.

Then on Sunday our ministry will pick these women up and bring them to Journey Christian Church.

During their time at church, they get to participate in the awesome praise and worship lead by Pastor Jeremy Tomlinson and team. Then they receive God’s word by our team of Pastors under the direction of Lead Pastor John Hampton.

Afterwards we continue the fellowship with them in the Anchor Room.  Our fellowship includes a time of sharing and encouraging, coffee, lunch and desert. Periodically one of the Life or Rooted Groups from Journey will visit and serve an incredible full course lunch. When this happens it is so special to witness because all who participate are blessed in so many ways.  You truly see the Love of Christ being poured out on all.

I – Serve on the third Saturday each month we bring 8 to 14 ladies to do whatever Gary Wilkerson (facilities Director) needs help with to maintain the Church building and grounds.                                                                                                                                                                                          During the Holiday season we will bring 15 to 25 ladies to help decorate the Church.

God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, nor sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

God doesn’t give you the people you want, He gives you the people you need – To help you, To hurt you, To leave you, To love you, And to make you into the Person you were meant to be!

Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.

You need Hope to Cope.
